Crane Inspection

WiscoLift's 12-Point Crane Inspection Program

1.   Remove the hoist brake housing, clean, inspect and adjust the motor brake.
2.   Remove the hoist electrical cover and open all control cabinets to clean and inspect the electrical components, internal wiring and connections.
3.   Check the gear case lubrication level and condition and top it off.
4.   Inspect and lubricate the load chain link-by-link and the wire rope inch-by-inch.
5.   Inspect all of the running gear:
   
  • Monorail trolley wheels and under hung crane wheels for wear and proper spacing on the beam flange
  • Top running trolley wheels and top running crane wheels for wear and proper seating on the rail
  • Drive gears and shafts for wear and proper lubrication
  • Crane rails for proper alignment
6.   Inspect cable festooning for:
   
  • Broken cable insulation
  • Sound and tight connections
  • Proper installation and component wear of festoon track
  • Free travel and excessive wear of festoon trolleys
7.   Inspect conductor bar and electrical pickup assemblies for:
   
  • Proper installation
  • Sound and tight connections
  • True running and excessive wear
8.   Clean operator controls and inspect for:
   
  • Proper function and labeling
  • Sound and tight connections
  • Damage that might cause operating failures or injury
9.   Inspect suspension and load hooks for:
   
  • Deformation or excessive wear
10.   Inspect load block and sheaves for:
   
  • Free turning
  • Excessive wear on sheaves
  • Proper lubrication
11.   Tighten any loose fasteners.
12.   Provide you with a concise and easy to read report of our findings.
