QUALITIES AND TRAITS

Synthetic web slings offer excellent load protection.  Unlike other sling types, they generally do not mar or scratch machined surfaces.  They are equally suited for use on other delicate surfaces.  Care should be taken to insure that foreign materials, which may induce scratches or other damage, are not present in the sling body.  Also, remember that synthetic slings stretch under load (3-6% for nylon, 3-4% for polyester).  It is this stretch which may create damage on some surfaces.

Long term exposure to ultraviolet light will have a deteriorating effect on web slings.  Efforts to minimize ultraviolet exposure will enhance sling longevity and safety.

Web slings provide superior gripping ability by molding and conforming to the load's surface.

Web slings are unaffected by most chemicals.  Please note chemical effects chart below.  They should not be used in conditions where the temperature will exceed 180ยบ F.
