Magnetic particle testing is a non-destructive method used to detect flaws in steel, alloys and
other ferromagnetic materials.
In theory, magnetic particle testing is simple. The component to be tested is magnetized, and iron particles are sprinkled on the test area. Iron particles are attracted to and cluster around the edges of a crack, making it easier to detect flaws than a simple visual inspection.
